How it Works

On-Site Hypochlorite Generation System Overview

Brine Makeup SystemWater and salt are mixed in the Brine Tank to produce a saturated brine solution that will be fed to the electrolyzer using a brine pump.
Transformer / RectifierPower from the facility is converted from AC to DC by the Transformer/Rectifier and delivered to the electrolyzer cells at the required voltage and current.
Electrichlor GeneratorThe heart of the system is the unique Electrichlor® cells, which use a nested concentric tube design, to convert the brine solution to 0.8% sodium hypochlorite.
Skid DesignThe generator skid includes a control panel for ease of use as well as an on-skid clean-in-place system. No need to remove the cells for maintenance.
Hydrogen ManagementHydrogen gas produced as a byproduct of the electrolysis process is safely handled in the hypochlorite tank. Blowers and instrumentation ensure proper air handling and ensure forced ventilation of the tank headspace to prevent accumulation.
Sodium Hypo StorageSodium hypochlorite solution is stored in the Hypochlorite tank. Hypochlorite is then fed to the dosing point by the hypochlorite pump, as required.

ELA (35 to 150 lbs/day)

Our Creston ELA system is ideal for capacities from 35 to 150 lbs/day. Multiple units can be utilized in parallel for higher capacities. This compact skid design features an integrated transformer/rectifier, generator, and control panel. The on-skid CIP makes cleaning and maintenance simple, ensuring maximum uptime, and minimal operator intervention. The design is based on the production of a 0.8% concentration solution.

ELX (150 to 600 lbs/day)

The Creston ELX system is designed for capacities ranging from 150 to 600 lbs/day. Similar to the ELA, controls and on-skid CIP help to ensure ease of operation. The design is based on the production of a 0.8% concentration solution.

ELG (up to 6000 lbs/day)

The Creston ELG system is a modular configuration ideal for capacities from 450 lbs/day to 6000 lbs/day. Each hypochlorite generator skid is made up of one base module and up to seven cell tower modules. The design is based on the production of a 0.8% concentration solution.

Demonstration trailer

Our pilot trailers are designed for 150 lbs/day and 300 lbs/day. These integrated systems are ideal for temporary or emergency needs as well as short-term pilots.
